Dear Shri.SRS
Thanks for the wonderful posting and I am very happy to see a response Smile. You have expressed your views so beautifully. Yes, MSV's "remade compositions" are far beyond comparison and certainly at par with the originals and most of the times they score better than the originals perse, so to speak. But the vice versa was never true in my opinion. Only MSV could remusic his original scores Smile. This was even acknowledged by the great Naushad Ali when he composed for "Saathi" (perhaps a remake of Paalum Pazhamum).

Well, this song was always one of my and Ram's favs during our college days.

I personally admire this song for its Mind blowing usage of trumpet !!! Though this is just a tip of the iceberg to showcase our Master's Brass usage, this song is always top rated in my list and heard, remembered and admired for the same.

Needless to mention, VJ's is so soulful, mellifluous and subtle in rendering of the sangathis. As an example,

"Intha Ulagam Peridhaa... ( very subtle sangathi here )

Nam Uravey Peridhu.." !!!

The whole song is very graceful, light and elegant yet very strong in its melodic content. The sitar, violins, flute and the constantly strumming guitar that surfaces through out the song makes the listener feel so sublime and hence elusive to describe.

VJ-MSV musical combination is always a GRAND treat. This combo never fails to enthrall the listener with its unique sangathis. Thats why, our Master is still a very contented composer with VJ and feels elated to compose and teach her. They both compliment each other well. A perfect GURU - DISCIPLE, aren't they ? Many times, I have heard our Master express this during our meetings.

You can listen to this song here,

Many thanks for the opportunity.

MSV Rules !!!
Venkat

The charanam of this song has a striking resemblance to the charanam and interlude of 'Sollavo sugamaana kadhai sollavo' from Sivandha Mann. Any significance?

This song used to be played on the radio those days. Especially in the Sri Lankan one. The voices of KJJ and VJ are marvelous in this song. KJJ sings a bit subdued with a slight nasal touch. Vani is crystal clear, as always. The brass section in such a soft number is brought in so delicately, and mesmerises you. The counters sung of KJJ reflect a control in his voice. Under MM, all these singers sang with utmost control and beauty. Only MM, the celestial architect, knows how to build castles with these voices.
