"e v p" proved a point or two in favour of the audience.

1. The claims of 'a specfic style' for an artiste is just unfounded. They relished MGR in a timid mould as his 'usual self' operated as a contrast in that well-laid screen play.
2. The phenomenal success of the movie in all centres emphatically suggested that audience are willing to 'receive' sensible deciations as against the euphemistic nomenclature 'formula' for success. 3. The very next movie "e v peNN" by the same producers bombed at the box office showing that 'like titles' have nothing to do with audience' sentiments. It should have been an eye opener that all the 'V' s behind the succcess of "e v piLLai" did not team up again and that audience expect 'better' pieces as successive projects from the same source.
4. aAbove all MGR as a reliable investment gained ground from " E V piLLai" onwards.

5 Certainly movies are products of collective wisdom was a message etched in the history of TF in this movie.
