Dear Friends,
The present piece relates to Cinematography in "e v p", handled by Aloysius Vincent and PN Sundaram. The duo have made indelible mark as cinematographers on South Indian screen and had their association dating back to 1950s at Venus pictures, later at Chitraalaya and finally as independent craftsmen.

Certainly, AV, PN S added tremendous value to the visuals in "evp". Most song sequences were captured in an aesthetic layout. Two of them stand apart by the degree of perfection achieved.
High and low angle shots of the longwinding stair case in 'nAn AaNai ittAl' song were eloquence- personified by the sheer beauty of presentation especially the red carpet laid as a cascade, over which camera casts its eye, much like a human perception. Great work indeed, as there were no post-production amendment facilities then. Also the camera work was as crisp and vibrant as the very song and swift movements of MGR.

Well, equally astonishing was the recording of visuals at the picturesque Brindhavan gardens for the song 'peN pOnAl'. The bewildering element here pertains to the captivating work in the low lit night sequence that managed to render the true feel as one would wade through the location at late dusk. Such vast acrage of landscape , brought into a single frame end to end was just marvellous to say the least.
AV PN S stand really tall by their breathtaking angles and depth.
Certainly these visuals enhanced the trends of repeat viewing among the viewers.
Warm regards Prof.K.R Madurai.

Wow!
