Dear friends..

This morning when I was hearing the song

"AlayamAgum mangai manathu" by PS in Sumathi en Sundhari, I just jumped when I hearing the second interlude.

Yes, our legend used 'Shenoy' in the second interlude, in a very mild way.

What a song!!! Aalayamagum mangai manathu!
MSV has composed many songs like this. One another is "Aalayam Enbathu veedagum aasai vaithal" from the file "Thamarai Nenjam". What a nice song with top class melody and speed in it with beautiful smile of a child also in the song. A number of P.Susheela solo songs are there in great taste. Take another song "Yengey neeyo naanum angey unnodu" from Sridhar's "Nenjirrukum varai".

Dear MSVians,
We have started some parallel threads of discussion on the countless achievements of MSV like the most recent one on shehanai usage. Please permit me to start one more: "vaLaikAppu padalgaL". The one which is my most favourite is from KarNan: "manjaL mugam niram mAra...". As I mentioned earlier, there is a version of this song there is a pllavi, anupallavi and chranam before PBS starts the "thAlAttu" in NilAmabari. I think the main melody is based on based on rAga "piloo". Other unforgettable melodious gems are:

1. kungampottu kulungathadi... (idhu Saththyam)
2. Thangamagal vayittril pinju magam uruvam... (vAzhkai padagu)
3. Thangachchi chinna poNNu thalai enna sAyudhu.. (karuppu paNam)

Can ohers contribute to this genere of MSV songs?

Dear Viswapriyan,
A very nice way to start this week !!!

Malar Koduthen Kai Kulunga Valaiyal Itten ( Thirisoolam) is an apt song for this situation.

I could also think of the other two songs which are not exactly "Valiakaappu" songs, yet are similar :

1) Kalyana Ponnu Kannana Kannu ( Padagotti) - for "Valayal" songs

2) Kadhu Koduthu ketten aha kuva kuva satham ( think - Kaavalkaran)

Others , please continue..

Ram,
Can you post this topic as a separate thread ?

Have a Great week ahead by listening to MSV songs !!

MSV Rules !!!

WHY SARADHA MADAM DELETED ALL MAILS?

WHAT MADE HER TO TAKE THIS DECISION?

WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?

SAD TO NOTE THE HAPPENINGS.

There are many movies in which all the songs have become popular. To name a few: "Karnan", "Vazhkai Padagu" etc. Can people add more movies in this category? Many would have been in that era and can recollect the movie, in which all the songs were block busters.

Hello all, Honestly I didnot get to know this composer, for yrs had a huge crush on '80's Ilayaraja'-still do! Very Happy thanks to DHOOL boys, I was reminded of the songs I forget or ignore or maybe listening but calling as MGR songs/KJY songs/Vani Jay delights etc.. Happy to be here! Smile (SL-Kaalai oodachuda pora-nee yellam not allowed here nnu solla maatta rt- oorama ukkandhu kathukkaren, OK Vaa!! Very Happy)

I choose to indulge this VALENTINE'S DAY -'Ammanai azhaghu mighu...'-Avan oru Charithiram... my favorite singer Vani Jayaram flirts with TMS!! Yes, I call this song a 'MSV Song' first time with a Dharmavathi-raga bhaavam!! (Oododi vandhen kanna-ambhujam Krishna composition) thanks, vinatha.

World best Romantic song EVER!
Anbulla maan vizhiye..... - Kuzhandhaiyum Deivamum! Stunning slow composition, very caressingly sung by TMS, equally gentle Susheela! Heart warming compostion! Nice, nice very nice!
