Dear Sri Raghavendran,
Nann paadum paadalil stirred my nostalgic memories. When I was away from home staying alone in Orissa in the early 80's, I would listen to old songs betweem 9 pm and 11 pm in Radio Ceylon and Madras 1 stations. When once I heard the lines 'iravukku naan mattum kaaval. enakkoru thunai indhap paadal, I felt that these lines were written and composed specially for me. Hearing this song makes me feel nostalgic every time.
Listening to 'malligai' after a gap of several years, I am dumbstruck. What a great composition! The way MSV mixes melody with other effects is an art that only he can dwell in. I cannot help feeling sorry for our unsung genius. _________________ P Rengaswami (9381409380)

The malligai song has some very fine piano pieces from the master indeed! Never listened till now! Even the other PS lullaby is captivating. The other song 'Indha nilavai' is heard more with different tunes and beats within the song. This song is also good, excepting the LRE's portion (or is it LRA?).
Good links.
Thanks,
Sai Saravanan |
