Dear Friends,
Whatever has been said of this song in my earlier posting does not reflect the totality of the situation. Where MSV stands tall and supreme is not merely by his tunes; rather his ability to develop a package that brings in all elements of pleasure to the listener.
Look at the way this song opens on short bits of flute to which PBS adds aha aha oho ho and soon the breeze sets in with huhha haha huha by PS and PBS responding and the mood gets fixed with the orchestra thickening progressively at the backdrop.
It is beyond my verbal prowess to adequately suggest how it enthralls; it can only be felt and it suggests of a situation of futile attempt as complex as trying to describe a new colour. IT IS A COLOURFUL PIECE and can never be potrayed by colourless words.
For the pundits on the subject, this number holds forage in abundance. Even pedestrian listeners like me can ill afford not to acknowledge the impact that the tune and orchestration create on each listening.
Obviously MSV is a goldmine of fertile imagination with innumerable faucets of exuberance which open at apt moments to carve out an orchestration which can never be improved upon for, in the first instance MSV doles out the very best.
What keeps amazing me for the last 57 years+ is
his indomitable penchant for variety
his uncanny ability in choice of instruments
his conceiving of a musical interpretation
the sequence by which the accompaniments roll out
the most articulate assemblage that is steam-ful but seamless
the most natural blending of voices and ludes
Absolutely peerless is this Sangeetha Saraswathi.
Certainly this song is just a speck in MSV's ocean of music.
Please add your perceptions.
Thank you
Warm regards K.Raman Madurai _________________ Prof. K. Raman

One of the great things about this song is that Yaaro which PBS sings in different style ! In his own innovative way and adding melody like a sculptor. If the same PBS had done this for Kaatru veliyidai kannamma, this song takes us to another level no ?!
Let me check with PBS sir on this special song . Unforgettable charming melody !! |
