The song 'Idhu undan veettu kilidaan' from the film Shankar Saleem Simon, sung by Vani Jayram, probably falls under this raagam. I mentioned this as an immediate response to the question. Of course, there are many more beautiful songs.... |

Dear Friends:
After , probably few years, I am writing thru forum post!!!
In my observation, Thilang is one of master's natural favourite. List includes -
1. Azhagan Muruganidam .............
2. Abinaya sundari..................
3. Nallathor veenai.....
4. Idhu Ungal veetu kilithan..... (in mixed styles)
5. Paalooti valartha kili..... from Gouravam
6. Nilavu Vandhu Aadumo.... from Raman Ethanai Ramandi (with western beats)
and
so on.................
Regards

Dear Jeyaram,
Thanks for the list. The beauty is that barring the song 'nalladhor veenai seidhe' (which any way look to represent a classic music concert), MSV breaks the raga barrier. And even that also is very unique for each song.
The classic example is the song 'Palooti valartha kili' where he breaks the raga syndrome when he repeats the word 'Chellamma' second time bringing the 'self pityness' emotion musically.
