Memorable ‘naana paaduvadhu naana...’ from Noolveli, I indulged this lunch hr!
VaniJayaram starts the song with timid, Exuberant Balu encourages her with enthusiasm, fun musical with meaningful lyrics is joyous indeed!

koovamal koovum.... is by Legendary MLV. I love that song, I think it is a same tune as 'unazhagai kanniyargal...' - Uthamaputhiran.
Speaking of Shri.MSV & MLV, 'varugiral unnai thedi...' from Thangapadhumai is a STUNNER in Atana!
Rare hits indeed! vinatha. |

Composer owns Indian Classical music! 'varugiral unnai thedi...' zillion times I have listened, everytime the song put me in trance. Composer challenged MLV with rapid jadhi with kalpana swaras, what a romantic poetry by Kannadasan. MLV delivers the krithi in lightening speed with poise and ease.
Yesterday I was listening to Nikkhil Banerje- Malkunji after this song. My heart was longing to listen to that ragam in his hands. He owns Bageshree. When I listen Malkunji, i think kamaj + Bageshree kept coming together. Yenakku theory theriyaadhu. I hope he composes a krithi in this raga in his future projects, just incase if he hasn't yet. |

Are you referring to Rock rock rock - Chandrababu with Balaiyaa perhaps. After every sentence of CB, the other guy will respond with classical raga and he will sing AAdinar inge etc etc !

Digression :
Dear Sankaranarayanan,
MLV's another class song is ANDHI MAYANGUDHADI AASAI PERUGUDHADEE from Parthiban kanavu.
Appadiye then ozugum kural !! Kalyani ragam at its best !
Pity that she passed away suddenly due to jaundice. But she left behind Sudha Raghunathan ! |

[i]Balaji, Glad you enjoyed!. Famous Charumathi Ramachandran too MLV’s disciple.
S.R.S sir,
MLV is Melodious, lilting, full of laya and Vibrant.
Shri.MSV's brilliance - his sheer intellect in formatting the soulful melodies, rich imaginations, same time adherence to musical tenets, incorporate swaras, harmonizing them through different octaves, MLV’s ability to glide effortlessly, simply fascinating.
Not only Legendary MLV or BMK,
Expressive, powerful vocals like ( Shri.TMS, tuneful Susheela, Versatile Balu,Virtuous Vanijayaram,Vivacious LRE etc..) + Shri.MSV’s virtuosity
= MATURED MUSIC.
Now for the pattu,
http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/7VbgRZNNIS.As1NMvHdW/
Elegant, Social song ‘ondru engal....’ - Panakkarakudumbam. MSV-TKR tapped into the enthusiasm of TMS & LRE to arrest the listener’s heart & mind.
Laya Laya Laya packed melody caries the powerful lyrics.
Two distinct, varied rhythms within the song balance the music amazingly sannamma.
Composer’s Sophisticated Simplicity and Clarity leads to a captivating, addictive orchestral design.
Run around with ‘Ondru engal ...’ in your lips on this Fun Friday! Ta..ta.. Vinatha. |

I think the other guy is "V.N. Sundaram" the same person who sings the line "kannathil muthamittal kaNamma..." in the song "chinnanjiru kiLeye kaNamma..", another magical melody by MLV.
The classical raaga in ":Rock Rock..." in padhibakthi is again atAna.
This song is probably the earliest fusion in TFM. _________________ endrummsv |
