MSV once mentioned that he had offeed to compose music for B R Bantulu's Ganga Gowri without any remuneration because Bantulu was in dire straits at that time. But Bantulu had paid him later saying that his excellent work could not go unrewarded, though the film didn't do well financially. We have such magnanimous people in all fields

Dear friends,
In an interview earlier to a TV channel long back, Mr.V.Kumar fondly recollected the affection and preference for our MM's voice for "Unakkenna kuraichal". He stood for melody. There are many beautiful numbers created by him. There is a lovely song with plenty of romance in it, sung by TMS and PS. "Thiru koil thedi rathi devi vandal". Both the singers compete with each other, with PS excelling in most parts. TMS is at his nasal best. Lots of chord changes, sitar, heavenly flute, violins, etc. Superb! Which raaga or raagas does this belong to?

Once in a TV interview PS cut short the interviewer (probably out of repeated references to IR??) when he was time and again asking for special comments on IR's knowledge and style of compositions. PS changed course and suddenly referred to V.Kumar, and said he was a melodious composer and started speaking about him and the songs composed by him. He had experimented with LRE and PS by making them sing songs of each other's style ("Kaadoduthaan" to LRE & "Naan sattam pottu" to PS)!

Thanks for the subject!
