He arouses mystical, sober rasa in bgm & lude along with an extra traces of dhwani – resonance in P.B.S’s voice .
Kannadasan’s yet another philosophical jewel with alternate piano-guitar & table rhythm, sober mood flute passages, prelude violin & more with postlude humming… composition penetrates straight into our soul.
MANITHAN ENBAVAN…SUMAITHANGI…
P.B.SREENIVOS…MSV-TKR…KANNADASAN.
I am finishing with the masterpiece…

Dear Baroque,
Like all others I too have been following your adoration on MSV the universal binding force through his music that spell binds any one. But, somehow I am unable to fully enjoy your RATIONING of words in applauding /appreciating the genius of MSV. Please make detailed assemblages that will certainly do proud to MSV and to your style of appreciation. For long I have waited for a full treatment of the chosen item
I trust you would not disappoint those waiting.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai.

Yes, Vinatha....oops terribly sorry...CEEPS..'kuyilgaL pAdum kalai koodam, koNdathu enathu arasAngam' Smile

CEEPS you will require another coat of pacchai paint......Vaithy and I witnessed a Balu recording under MSV yesterday....you know lover boy..yeah the same person. I am sorry, considering the confidentiality of the matter, cannot divulge more Wink Are you humming "Further Information vaNga" thoothu sella oru thOzhi illayena from PACHHAI viLakku ? Smile the word 'PACHHAI' was capitalized unintentionally Smile ha ha ha !!!! As an aside, MSV was telling us (after Balu had arrived for recording), "Blotting paper vanthirukkAn'...indicating Balu's quick grasp of compositions and tune. Smile

Balaji, thanks for your good words on CW-MSV series. Any conversation with MSV is always like his own compositions, you dont know where it is headed. He might narrate an incident and veer towards talking about Naushad or any incident that a common man may be aware of. Hard to pin him down and can be frustrating at times. However, I will continue recalling at appropriate points, salient features of our/my meetings with him. Please bear with me on this.

Vaithy, Sabesan and I met up with (for a 15 minutes or so) on his star birthday at his residence. He introduced himself to me 'en peyar Viswanathan' Smile He invited us for the composition sessions and the mixing sessions as mentioned in the first para in this posting. He spoke about how the composition had to be classical in nature and therefore he had spun out a ragamaligai in Charukesi, Mayamalavagoulai, Revathi and Kanada.

Dear Vinatha,

Quite enchanting your selection of songs. Ulagam Pirandhadhu enakkaaga... the prelude and the accordian peace in the prelude itself is ample proof for MSV's classy touch in that song. Where do we classify his creations....... probably this is the most sweetest addiction one could get into! Thanks Vinatha for your unique touch in all your posts. Unique Baroque!!!

Cheers
MSV is Music

Venkat,

I yet to see the film MEENAVA NANBAN. I don't know the plot & characters.
Meenava Nanban is a SUPERIOR ALBUM!

I am unable to understand/grasp your imagination!

Kalki's Poongkuzhali is infatuated with Kundavai's loving brother Arulmozhi varma(the GREAT RAJA RAJA CHOLA).. eventually married her moraippayyan Senthan Amudhan... later became king Uththama chozhan! Smile

Good night, Vinatha.

Dear Vinatha,

Chumma thamashuku appadi ezhuthiyirunthen...

Because Vandhiyadevan-oda pair is Ilayabirati Kundavai Devi.
And Poonguzhali married Senthan Amuthan.
But our hero Vandhiyadevan used to kid with Kundavai, Nandhini, Manimekalai and Poonguzhali... illaya... Smile

But in the movie, MGR and Latha are hero and heroine.

The song is fully picturised in a boat with MGR and Latha.

So just for a fun I mentioned like that... Please do not take it seriously...

nEram...pournami nEram......ahhhaaaa....MSV-yin padaippu thAn enna.....
SPB-yin gyAnam thAn enna......I am sure the pallavi was written first...dont know about the charanams......sahithya bhavam......MSV rAjjiyathhil oru kutti ooru. 'mella mella ithazhinil arangErum'.....MSV takes the tune up and culminates , sounding like an announcement of sorts...which it is !!! And who would ever pitchfork a double Shehnai in the interludes of a romantic number and still pull it off !!! The Shehnai pieces shake you up, pin you down and arrest you....Enslaved forever. As in the case with several MSV numbers, when the charanam starts you wonder how the Master magician is going to reconcile it with the pallavi, but you know...MSV always succeeds Smile Voila !!! the pallavi is back again after the endearingly tender ending of the charanam. MSV, we want more numbers such as these now, now that the present crop do not know that such a paradigm exists. I am sure they wouldnt have heard the song either !!!! The present day "attempters" are busy flipping through software and keyboard manuals or perusing sound samples and present day singers are busy practicing how to deliver swarams fast or some such thing. The Soul exists somewhere in between, completely thwarted and its rights to express divinely, roughly snatched away by the "aesthetics challenged".

Dear Mr.Vatsan,
Sorry to interfere; I am unable to reconcile to your generous pardon of the current MDs saying "The soul exists some where". The lone solace is soul can never be extinguished . So the soul exits and tries to exist elsewhere. Iy is a tribute of course to the soul and not these MDs who are MUSIC / MIND Destroyers by cacophony. I am just unable to 'see' any sense in their [De]compositions.
Sorry to have interrupted your thought fabric. Pardon my impatience .
Warm regards Prof..K.RAMAN
