Dear Raghavendran,
Thank you very much for giving links of some of the wonderful songs
of Mellisai Mannar, which many of rasikas might not have heard at all.
All these songs are gems.
Let me enjoy them again through your update.
Rgds

Dear Mr.Raghavendran,
I don't know how to thank you. The songs are all gems. It proves the fact that MSV retained his creative genius all through the 80's despite many people saying otherwise. For some reason many of the excellent MSV songs from the 80's are difficult to get hold of these days.
Your post has lifted me out of the gloom and indignation I found myself in after Mellisai Chakravarthi was overlooked for national awards once again.
I must also thank you for enabling me to listen to a song that I have been craving for a while. As I was coursing through one of the links you have provided, I came across this song - Yendi muthamma sung by Chandrabose.
I also happened to listen to another song that I have completely forgotten about. It is 'Puriyadha velladu theriyama odudhu' by TMS and PS in the film Oorukku oru pillai. How sweet and melodious and meaningful!
Mellisai Maamannar composed several fantastic songs during 80's which were probably drowned out by the din of 'mukkal munagal' type wanton double meaning songs by other people. Fans moved away from real diamond ( our MSV's songs) towards glittering multi- coloured glass ! It is all a shame because that was when the seeds were sown for the present day musical malady.
Any way let us all seek solace in our Masters soothing melody.
I hope I have not offended anybody with my personal views. If so, I am sorry.
Once again, thanks a million,
With sincere regards,
