Only MSV can give such a feast !
Amazing !
Will we get back those Golden Days ? at all ?

Dear Mr Ramki,
Vennira aadai , like CVSridhar and MS Viswanathan, was far ahead of its times as a cocept, musical bonanza and a cinema where a YOUNG HERO STAYS IN A SELF-DRAWN CIRCLE OF DECENCY, even when the gullible girl lands on him physically. It was very unfortunate that movie critics who did not obviously perceive the nobility of a Doctor /Psychiatrist's immense social responsibilty chose to suggest inadequate acting by the hero. HONESTLY IT WAS A NICE KNIFE-EDGE WALK FOR CVS AS DIRECTOR AND SRIKANTH AS HERO. [ For those who may not be aware, Srikanth was a wellplaced officer in USIS in Chennai]. The movie had some finely conceieved ideas of handling a mentally shattered girl. [OBVIOUSLY THE TEVHNICAL CREW , THE DIRECTOR, MD AND ARTISTES WERE HIGHLY COMPOSED] Any later Director would have made at least 2 duets between Jayalalitha -Srikanth and in the penultimate scene make J address Srikanth "ANNA" in white costumes to wind up the movie. That the team handled an excellent subject has never been understood by our critics / reviwers , leave alone the audience who believe that LOVE IS A HARSH DISPLAY OF LUST. Any way, Mr.Ramki you have missed to register your observations on the song 'ORUVAN KADHALAN' BY PBS, PS in this movie. May be you were overwhelmed by BGM in re-recording.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Navi Mumbai. _________________ Prof. K. Raman

.......and one more song
'allithandu kaalgaleduththu aattam aadinaal' by LRE with her usual style. The hummings in the interludes (by Raju....????) will resemble the song 'malarendra mugamingu sirikkattum' from kaathalikka neramillai.
I read the detailed analysis of saradha madam about the song 'ammammaa kaatru vandhu' in some other forum.
madam, please re-print it here too. |

Hi,
There's another song which may not have been there in the movie version, "Neeradum Kangal Engae" a beautiful solo by melody queen P Suseela. Having not watched this movie fully, am not able to say with clarity whether this song was included in it or it's like quite a few other songs set to tunes by VR (Most notably another superb PS solo in Paalum Pazhamum - Thenral varum sethi varum.
In short Vennira Aadai was another landmark album of the VR duo. It was released in 1965, a long while ago, but the songs remain ever-green for over four decades. Great composition! |
