DEAR FRIENDS,
After several years, this morning I happened to listen to the number "Veenai Paesum" from the movie Vaazhvu en pakkam, featuring Lakshmi and Muthuraman. Lakshmi has played a dumb girl.

This song has several unique features. Veenai ADHU Paesum would be a normal style for average MDs. But, MSV is streets and years ahead on matters of embellishing a song.
In this song MSV employs a pause between words of pallavi to create that anxious expectation as to how the tune would take course.
After Veenai which is stretched as VEEEENAI A PAUSE INTERVENES AND is followed by PAESUM that is not stretched. This hits the listener from no where as embellishments generally occur in interludes or charaNam lines.
Another feast in this song is in the progression of violins that caress into a sedate setting from where gentle percussion wakes you up by a polite and measured tilt of mood.
The song has been rendered by KJ J and Sasirekha. In true MSV tradition Sasirekha gives a grand humming finish with KJ J.
All through the song the mood and lyric are carefully balanced by absolute artistry of seamlessly blending the lyric. voice and the low pitch sedation by percussion. This is another MSV number that would linger in you like the taste of genuine coffee made by accurate protocol. A grand song.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai.

Dear Prof. Raman,

Thank you for picking up a glorious melody from the hands of MSV. I really don't know how MSV conceived the idea of running a subtle veena (played by GK Venkatesh ofcourse) thoroughout the song......... and sasirekhas humming...... iyoooooooo enna oru composition. Anyone listening to it for the first time ought to get bowled by MSV's sheer creation. What a melody, what a great way to present it Prof!!!

MSV IS MUSIC

Dear Prof,

I would say this is what defines MSV ! Few months before, Ms. Meenakshi wrote it in lyrics section nicely :

May be any one of the following reasons:
paadal is starting with "VEENAI PESUM", thats y our MM has played with VEENA in this song.
MM has played with VEENA in this song so the Kavingnar started the song with "VEENAI"...
If I am not wrong Lakshmi will be playing VEENAI in this song...

Whatever the reason may be, mothathil
Beautiful voice of KJY
Beautiful humming of BSS
Beautiful BGM
Beautiful tune
Undoubtedly all these beautiful things make this song as one of the outstanding numbers by our MM... ithuthan unmai... Smile
