hi
in another post , i have mentioned , that i would come up with what is presented , in chennai vividhbharathi - programme ranjani sri ranjani

i will try and post whatever extra the performers say - over and above raga alapana

the songs of bhagyasri , that were broadcasted (on 20/10/08

a) ponnezhil pothathu puthu vaanil - kalangarai villakkam
b) nee ennana sonallum kavithai - naedru indru naalai

i know Maalai pozhuthin mayakathiley is also from bhagyalakshmi -

i request , the elite members list the songs of bhagyasri in this post , so over the period of time we have a big list , as i know MM is obsessed with this ragha.

'Anbaale thediya en' (Dheivappiravi) is composed by R. Sudharsanam. I am not sure about 'Kaanaa Inbam' I think it is from Sabhaash Meena and the composer is G Lingappaa. I could be wrong but I am sure this is not by MSV.

DEAR FRIENDS,
The song 'kANA imbam kanindhadhEnO' from "SabAsh Meena" was by TG Lingappa another ace composer. If my memory serves me right, the singers were Ragunath Panigrahi and PS. Hope it suffices the need.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai.

Dear Mr. Murali,
I rememeber the song 'KANAinbam' a song in rain between Sivaji Ganesan and actress Malini for the Movie "SABASH MEENA" was scored by MD TG Lingappa [ A Kannada man ] and the singerS for this song were Mr Raghunath Panigrahi [ not CSJ] and PS.If you listen the number a several times you would find the singer reverberating in a style not common for CSJ. I hope you get the information clear. THANK YOU .
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Madurai.

THANKS PROF

I WAS ALL ALONG THINKING THAT IT WAS SUNG BY CSJ ONLY. KUDO TO THE SINGER WHO STARTS THE SONG AS 'KAAAANA IBAMMMMM'. I WAS MESMERISED BY THAT VOICE. IT IS SIMLIAR TO THE STORIES WHERE WE PRAISE KANNADASAN FOR A GOOD SONG WRITTEN BY VAALI

I WISH YOU A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

REG

DEAR MR MURALI,
i apologise for a wrong information from me on "Sabash Meena song. The actual singer of 'kANA inbam' was Mr. TA MOTHI and not R Panigrahi. I got the names messed up grom voice similarities, and I regret the wrong assertion. Sorry for the misguidance.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman

KANNANIN SANNADHIYIL ( ? )
This is from Oru Kodiyil Iru Malargal - Jaishankar. Two versions are there. 1. KJY and 2. PS and PJ.

AVAN NINAITHANA IDHU NADAKKUM ENDRU - from Selva Magal again Jaishankar.

MSV has scored lot of good songs for Jai. (the above 2 movies, Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum, Athaya Mamiya, Thunive Thunai, Panjavarnakili, Gowri Kalyanam, Nee, Taxi Driver, Mayor Meenatchi, Vandikaran Magan etc.,)

"THAT IS 'MAYAKKUM MAALAI PHOZHUDHEY NEE POO' FROM GULEBAGAVALI " - I heard that this particular song (AMR, Jikki) alone from that movie is composed by KVM.

Mr. Venkat,
You are right. 'Oruvar manathai oruvar ariya' is from Gowri Kalyanam. Apart from the pleasing music, another speciality of this song is that this song is about the postal service - I think this is the only one of its kind. Another rare masterpiece from Kavignar. This song is sung by the hero who is a postman (Jai shankar) In the final charanam, the song says, ' Sukhamum varalaam, dhukkamum varalaam, iraivan arulaal nalame varuga!' The post may bring good news or bad news but the postman wishes that the news be good. I was astonished at Kavignar's lines .'Oruvar manathai oruvar ariya uthavum sevai ithu' is a simple but perfect definition of the postsl service. Of course, the song has been made enjoyable by MSV's facile and lovable tune. The orchestration is also very imaginative.

Dear friends, I would like to bring to your attention two songs of excellent quality and feel on this raga Bhagyashree were composed by Chandrabose in recent times. One is from the movie Vasanthi . It starts like this "Santhosham Kanatha Vazhvunda" sung by KJ Jesudas. Another one came in the film"Vettaiyadu Vilayadu", a Arjun, Nirosha starrer that was released in the late 80s. That song was sung by KJ Yesudas and Lalitha Sahari and it goes on like this"Punnahai Puriyatha Kathalai Solla Vaarthai Illai". Hope you relish this piece of information. Responses are always welcome
