Dear Friends,
We have come across quite some interesting postings from different sources on the instances that led to the making of specific songs. The following item relates to the evergreen melody "Aththan en aththan" from Paava mannippu.
On an occaion Mr. Kannadasan and a politician- friend of his had to return to Chennai from Salem or some such place. Both were hard-struck for money and were under the cruel grip of hunger. With what lttle they could muster, they managed to buy a packet of Peanuts [1Pottalam- Kadalai] and fillled therest of the stomach with water. KD, after this "food" carefully unfolded the paper of the packet and found a timely item - A 'kavidhai' about overcoming hunger. It ran thus :
Kallai THTHAAN, MannaiTHTHAAN
KoichiTHTHAAN, KudikkaTHTHAAN
KarppiTHTHAANA?.

KD was so much impressed by the simple but effective play of THTHAN and was waiting to make a lyric in this modality. When the occasion opened up in Paava mannippu. he did a new type of lyric that stays immortal.
That great minds quickly pickup threads from every conceivable experience is evident from this incident. There is another interesting event related to the same item . Ireserve it for another time.
Warm regards Prof.K.Raman Navi Mumbai

Dear Professor sir,

You brought an outstanding number with the situation, how it was born.

Same like many songs as piano special, this 'aththaan...ennaththaan' song is an accordian special.

Another genious should born to overbeat the accordian tune in the interludes.
