மெல்லிசை மனனரின் சொத்து சதாசிவன் என்கின்ற முத்து

"மணியோசையில் நடித்த ஆட்டுக்குட்டி, நெஞ்சில் ஓர் ஆலயத்தில் தோன்றிய தவளை, சர்வர் சுந்தரத்தில் விஜயாவுடன் கொஞ்சி நடித்த கிளி, இன்னும் பாலும் பழமும் படத்தில் மயானக் காட்சியிலுள்ள நாய், ஓநாய், கழுகு, கோட்டான், போன்றவைகட்கெல்லாம் நான் குரல் கொடுத்தேன்.

இவர்களில் எனக்குத் தலைவலியைக் கொடுத்த ஓரே நடிகர், வீரத்திலகத்தில் நடித்த ஸ்ரீமான் கரடியார்தான். அவரைப் போல் கத்துவதற்குப் பெரும் பாடு பட்டுவிட்டேன். சென்னையிலிகுக்கும் மிருகக் காட்சிச் சாலைக்குச் சென்று அங்குள்ள கரடி வாத்தியாரிடமும் கொஞ்சம் பாடம் கேட்டுக் கொண்டு வந்து, மூன்று விதமாகக் கத்தி, ஒலிப்பதிவு செய்து கொண்டு,பிறகு மூன்றையும் போட்டுக் கேட்டு ஒரு குரலைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன்.

ஒரு முறை கன்னியாகுமரிக்கு நானும் என் மைத்துனர் பாலகிருஷ்ணனும் சென்றிருந்த பொழுது, சூர்யோதயத்தைப் பார்க்க ஒரு மணல் திட்டுக்குச் சென்றோம். அங்கு கிளி போன்ற பறவை ஒன்று வட்டமிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தது. சூர்யோதயத்தைக் காணச் சென்ற நான், அந்தப் பறவையின் குரலில் பறி கொடுத்தேன். உடனே அது போலவே ஒரு குரல் கொடுத்தேன். பறவை, ஒன்று இரண்டானது. இரண்டு பத்தானது. பத்து நூறானது. எங்கள் தலைக்கு மேல் படை படையாக வட்டமிடத் தொடங்கியதோடு, எங்கள் உடல்களில் உராய்ந்து கொத்தவும் தொடங்கி விட்டன. அப்பொழுது தான், நான் பறவை போல கத்துவதை விட்டு மனிதன் போல், ஐயோ, அப்பா, அம்மா என்று கத்தத் தொடங்கினேன். வேட்டியை எடுத்துத் தலையில் முக்காடு போட்டுக் கொண்டு, கையிலுள்ள பேனாக் கத்தியைத் தலைக்கு மேலே நீட்டியவாறு சிறிது நேரம் பதறிப்போய் உட்கார்ந்திருந்த பிறகு தான், அந்தப் பறவைப் படைகள் மறைந்தன.

நான் 9வது வயதிலேயே நடிக்கத் தொடங்கி விட்டேன். திருவனந்தபுரத்திலே அப்பொழுது படுசுட்டி என்ற பட்டத்துடன் படித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன். சென்னையில் யுனைடெட் ஆர்டிஸ்ட்ஸ் கார்ப்பரேஷன் என்ற படக் கம்பெனி தயாரித்த பிரஹலாதா மலையாளப் படத்தில் பிரஹலாதனின் நண்பனாக நடிக்கத் தகுந்த ஒரு வாண்டுப் பயலுக்காக, திருவனந்தபுரத்தில் தேடினார்கள். அப்படத்தின் டைரக்டர் கே.சுப்ரமணியம், இது விஷயமாக மெரிலாண்ட் சுப்ரமணியத்திடம் கூற, அவர் என் பள்ளிக்கூடத் தலைமை வாத்யாரிடம் கேட்க, அவர் சதாசிவத்தைப் பற்றி, அதாவது என்னைப் பற்றி வர்ணிக்க, சுப்ரமணியம் நேராக என் வீட்டுக்கே வந்து விட்டார்.
அவர் வரும் பொழுது நான், என் நண்பர்களுக்கு வேடிக்கை காட்டுவதற்காகத் தலைகீழாக நின்று கொண்டிருந்தேன். இந்த போஸ், சுப்ரமணியத்திற்கு மிகவும் பிடித்துப் போய் விட்டது. இல்லையென்றால் அந்தப் படத்தில் நான் நடித்திருக்க முடியுமா? படத்தில் நடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் போது, டைரக்டர் சுப்ரமணியம் என்னை எலி என்று அழைப்பதில் தான் சந்தோஷப் படுவார். இன்று வரை நான் அவருக்கு நான் எலி தான்.

Dear Mr Ragahvendran,

You are doing a wonderful job by bringing us some rare "clippings" from decades old magazines. Thanks a lot and keep up your good work.

Talking of Sadan, he has also acted in many movies in small roles. Couple of movies that readily come to my mind are "Sorgam" & "Raman Ethanai Ramanadi". In "Sorgam" he will be the Car Driver to Sivaji (in the song "Solladhey Yarum Kettaal") and in "RER" he will be one of the many friends of the "asattu" Sivaji. You can also see him him in the song "Ammaadi Ponnukku Thanga Manasu". A great artiste indeed.

Sadan unfortunately is longer with us as informed to us by MSV himself. Just FYI....he was the person behing the "pok" sound in "parakkum panthu parakkum". MSV recreated the sound for us by placing his forefinger by the side of his mouth, curving the finger inside a little bit and pulling it out rapidly to produce the sound !!! He stated that after all those rehearsels for the song and the final recording, Sadan's cheeks were swollen the next day.

There were few interviews by Mr. Ganesh (Shankar-Ganesh) in the TV channels earlier (Jaya TV?). Being an ardent follower and troupe member of MM, he has been describing many situations like the ones narrated about Sadan. He had spoken at length about Sadan too.

Even Mr.Ganesh had been performing some such sort of mimicry activities for MM. I do not recall all that he had mentioned, but one that comes to my mind is the kissing sound repeatedly made (by Mr.Ganesh) during the recording of "Mutthana mutthallavo" by PS. If possible, he should be interviewed to hear about MM's recording sessions.
