It is really saddening to witness great stalwarts leaving for heavenly abode in an orderly manner. Sridhar, Nagesh and now it is Balajee. He is one of those rare producers, who was perfect in his chosen field. There was not a single case of disharmony from his artistes, except on one occasion during the project of Rathathin Rathame. Even then, there was no mistake on the part of producer.
He was not only a producer but an actor of class. Though he used many music directors for his films other than MM, like K.V.Mahadevan, Ilaiyaraaja, Chandrabose, Shankar Ganesh, Ganghei Amaran, there was clearly an undercurrent fact that none of the others could bring the films to great heights, though we accept that some of the songs were hits. But in the case of MSV, Balajee's films composed by MM stand out. Thangai, En Thambi, Engirundo Vandhal, Thirudan, Raja, Needhi, Unakkaaga Naan, Sujatha, to name a few.
Mellisai Mannar, in spite of his age, took pains to visit Balajee and paid his homage.
May Balajee's soul rest in peace.
Our condolences to the bereaved family.
Raghavendran
