Hi Friends,

As we all know, the Master had wonderfully used western instruments like Trumpets and Saxophone in many songs. In fact he used these instruments in songs composed as early as the late 50s and early 60s. The Trumpets usage in the song "ஆட்டம் ஆட்டம் ஆட்டம்" from "பாகப்பிரிவினை", which I think was released in 1959, is simply astonishing.

Here are some wonderful numbers which readily came to mind where the Legend has so beautifully used Saxophone. As we all know, in His songs the sound of the Sax is haunting and very special:

16. Love is fine darling (தவப் புதல்வன்)

Long Live MSV and His mesmerizing Music!

Cheers,

Venu Soundar

Another important song that I missed out is - தைரியமாகச் சொல் நீ மனிதன்தானா from ஒளி விளக்கு.

MSV used the trumpet for the first prelude and sax for the second prelude for a same melody in the song 'Unnai ondru ketpen'.

The other beautiful song in sax is 'Indha punnagai enna vilai'

One more song with scintillating Sax is from the movie Lakshmi Kalyanam. The song is யாரடா மனிதன் இங்கே. A beautiful bit of 17 seconds before the first stanza.
In the song, மன்னிக்க வேண்டுகிரேன் (song already quoted).
In the first interlude MM will use Sax and in the second interlude, the same note will be used with Flute.
