avanukku than... is a very good song;typical MSV's flowing well connected orchestration. I never heard it before , but I remember a similiar song in vishwa thulasi.
thanks.

Dear Mr.Sivakumar,
You have reminded us of some lovely melodies from MM in Saranalayam. What an orchestration for the "ezhudugiral oru puthu kavithai" song!! Its violins are one of the best pieces kindling a feeling of flight and ecstasy in us. The tabla, of course, is romantically played and really exquisite. The Jeyachandran song evokes a kind of peace in our hearts.
Thanks for reminding us!

Another marvel went unnoticed is the songs from the film "Velundu Vinaiyillai". Let's bring them out. First the song "Katrin Anuvai Moochaakki" from this film, sung by Vani Jayaram.

The Vasantha Raagam consisted of two solos by Surendar also. One that was popular was 'idhu vasantha raagam', a short but sweet song. The other one was 'naan azhuthaal enna'. The song mentioned in the above posting with Surendar and PS also has KJY too singing a portion. The tabla in that song is beautiful. The best song has been SPB's thedaa idamellam thedinen. This has excellent guitar, percussion, and some brass. SPB sings like heaven. The SJ's song has memorable and exquisite tabla, some simple chorus and strong orchestra.
Surendar used to get songs in these productions, probably due to Shobha. Eventhough she had lots sung under MM earlier, they suddenly shifted to IR, and ever since, forget to mention MM in most of the forums. Nothing surprising. Luckily because of this, we did not hear Shobha and Surendar singing forcibly (?) under MM after this. Thanks God. In my memory, the only song worth its name by them has been 'Maalai illam vayadil' tuned by IR.
Thanks,
Sai Saravanan
