Dear Mr.Raghavendran,
The movie Pilot Premnath has some lovely songs:
1. Ilangayin Ilam Kuil
2. Who is the black sheep
3. One song in Sinhalese style.
I am not sure whether this song is released in the early 80s or late 70s.
Can you provide links for these songs... _________________ Meendum Santhippom Viraivil...

movie: Neethiku Thandanai (1987)
song: Chinnan Chiru
http://www.dishant.com/jukebox.php?songid=59241
the interludes have interesting music as someone tries to sabatoge in the movie(courtesy youtube video).
This movie came out in 1987 and the song is so refreshing even now and I always wondered why MSV did not do many movies in nineties after listening to MSV songs in late 80's. |

dear sriram
thank you for posting this wonderful song . i think swarnalatha was introduced in this film .
Lack of films in 90s or even thereafter , i frankly feel nothing got to do with MSv , its other reasons , some reasons i can think of
a) IR was at his peak , and film industry doesnot have any loyalty in general , so its " go with the wind " when balaji's and balachanders can switch over what to say of rest .
b) the toip producers , who demand what they want at that point faded away , those who were in fray , depended more on heros / directors , and their words were final .
c) those who came to him , has budget constraints , and hence number of instruments , used in any song have come down .which didnot give good opening to songs . even if you take his latest movie valibhan sutrtum ulagam
you will realise the tunes are good , but instrumentation , is not to the present trend ,so his compositions are still on top , and no one can beat him , even now , but modernisation of the instrument usage needs to be addressed , for which the MONEY factor comes in . the Mds can be paid later , but the instrmentalists should be paid on daily basis , which most of his producers found it difficult ,.
d) the same budget constraints , made these films , not advertised properly , so the success rate of films have come down ,
i can say , there are films where his movies directed by k shankar, had excellant music ex - devidarisanam , yamirukka bayamaen .mepperum deviar ,
miruthangachakravarthi . ofcourse most of shankar's movies are devotional . and i donot know how many of our friends have heard it
i was fortunate enough , (as already mentioned in this forum.)
to have witnessed a few of his composition ,recording ,re recording (including for a Hindi movie ,the music for that movie was LP ) _________________ vijayakrishnan |
