Dear Friends,
In our current effort of recognizing the range over which the Kavignar-Mannar pair has doled out panacea for human predicaments, I deem it proper now to look at the domain of consoling the mind. In fact, the duo remains supreme in this territory too, as they have provided answers to our chocking intricacies in quite an altruistic fashion. Also, if we consider the occasions we get to know that every worldly situation has been answered.
'kAla magaL kan thirappAL' PS
This number enjoys the status of a common balm for the disturbed mind.
look at: 'chinna chinna thunbamellAm eNNa eNNa koodumadA'
'aa vadhellAm aagattumE amaidhi koLLadA'
'oru pozhudhil inbam varum marupozhudhil thunbam varum
'iruLil oLi irukkum, YEkkam YEnadA thambi thookkam koLLadA'
As ever MSV has brilliantly set the tune that amply provides for emotive delivery and silences the turmoil if we listen to the number.
'mayakkamA kalakkamA' "sumai thAngi " PBS
What a polite dismissal at "vAzhkai endrAl 1000 irukkum'
'vAsal thOrum vEdhanai irukkum'

also 'unakkum keezhE uLLavar kOdi ninaiththu pArththu nimmadhi nAdu'
To date, I have not found a better remedy to these utterances that have effectively rendered by PBS to a skilfully orchestrated number, who else but MSV could have done it?

'aaru manamE aaru' "aandavan kattaLai" TMS
iF KAVIARASR STANDS TALL BY THE PHRASE,
Mellisai mannar stands TALLER BY every note -be it vocal or instrumental from the very opening and right through the song that step by step solves problems. EVERY SPOT OF THE SONG IS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN

'manaivi amaivadhellAm' "manmadha leelai' KJJ
What a labyrinth of thought on a young mind longing for wedlock.
'poruththam udalilum vEndum' 'purindhavan thuNaiyAga vEndum'
kaNvanin thuNaiodu thAnE kAmanai vendrAga vendum'

'manadhu mayangi enna unakkum vAzhvu varum' are truly magnificent in consolidating the issues in the briefest package.
MSV has employed a novel pattern of instrumental play that peps up the stanzas more or less cascading in robust patterns while the tabla play has taken the song to an authentic plane of supremacy.

'DEvan koil maNi Osai' "maNi Osai" SG

For those who suffer the ignominy of local hostility, Kavignar has identified solace from the highest echelon -The temple.
'oorAr veruththAl, ulagam pazhiththAl udhavum koil maNi Osai'
thAyAr vadivil thAvi aNaithE thazhuvum koil maniOsai'
Almost every word on the lyric has a pride of reference to the story and MSV has taken absolute command of the situation from the word go. Opening the number with a bell he has crafted sympathy in melody or melody in sympathy using dexterous play of notes. A range of gong decibels coming at the end of the song give a fitting pat to the song.

'ninaippadhellAm nadandhu vittAl' "nenjil Ore aalayam" PBS

Absolute conviction of reality is the theme in this song. The very pallavi compels acceptance by detonating any assumption of human supremacy.
'mAruvadhai purindhu kondAl mayakkam theLindhu vidum' is a summary in 6 words. In 1960s, the opening note of the song itself was discussed among boys and girls in colleges as everything was novel including the sarcastic sounding 'ninaippadhellAm' .

'7 swarangalukkuL ETHTHANAI PaDAL' VJ

BESIDES THE HITHERTO unresolved compositional skills of MSV this song is a soothsayer running through different facets of life.
'vElai pirakkum endru nambikkai koLga'
nALi ppozhudhu ondru yAvarkkum undu adhai nadaththa oruvan undu kOilil kANga' offer the cleanest advice and indirect suggestion to avoid unlawful attempts. No doubt the song rests on MSV's shoulders.
