Dear Balaji,
Prasanna didn't give company to Vishy. In fact, he got a "pair" in that Test. GRV put on 41 for the 7th wkt with Karsan Ghavri, 52 for the 9th wkt with Bishen Bedi and 21 for the last wkt with B.S.Chandrasekhar, in the 1st inngs.
However, Prasanna was the most successful bowler, claiming 5/70 and 4/41 in the two inngs of the match, which India won by 100 runs.
You are right, Doordarshan Kendra, Madras, was started in Jan '75.

I entirely agree with you Mr SRS. Vishy made 114 in the 1st inngs of the Feb'81 Melbourne Test. India won the Test by 59 runs after conceding a first inngs lead of 182 to Australia, who were skittled out for 83 in the 2nd inngs with Kapil taking 5/28, Ghavri 2/10 & Doshi 2/33.
Another memorable innings of Vishy was his 124 in the 1st inngs of the Jan'79 Test against West Indies at Chepauk on a difficult pitch. Again India won the match by 3 wkts. Kapil and Venkat took 7 wkts each in that Test.
Undoubtedly, GRV is the most classy, stylish and innovative batsman that India has ever produced and he was a master against pace as well as spin.
