At last someone
Dear Friends,
Breaking my restraint [from writing], I write this more as a ‘duty’ than for anything else. It has been our genuine anguish that media at large and presenters in particular have been denying the due credits to the grandeur of Shri. MSV’s compositional brilliance in programmes devoted to movie songs. Solace came through one Mr. Raghu [ said to be a song composer] who presented yesterday’s episode [25 -01-2016] on Jaya TV’s ‘thEn kiNNam’. It was an experience of breathing fresh air amidst suffocating whiffs of misplaced adoration of mediocre. The person- a special guest is apparently knowledgeable, if one goes by the songs he presented. I could watch the telecast in patches; still it was pleasant by virtue of his ‘narratives’ on how certain features reveal the brilliance of the songs he played. He touched items from a couple of other composers [ G Ramanathan= ‘vasantha mullai’, and Vedha= ‘nAn malarOdu thaniyAga’; but chose good pieces to highlight what he felt as a critical feature]. Most of the songs were pointed to MSV’s unique styles. Some songs played were ‘MayakkamA kalakkamA’, nALai indha vELai pArththu’, oLimayamAna edhirkAlam’ , ‘pAttukku pAtteduththu’, ‘vasanthakAla nadhigALilE’ etc,. Mr.Raghu chose to clearly mention the critical supremacy in MSV’s compositions. He would appear on the same programme due on Monday next [1-02-2016 -9.00 am- 10.00 am]. At last, we can heave a sigh of relief that there are persons in the same trade and speak their honest mind out. Certainly it was rejuvenating.
Warm regards K.Raman, Madurai Jan 26, 2016

Dear Prof

Nice it Needed MR Raghu to break your silence .

Mr Mandaveli Jayaraman also spoke to me very high on that program.

He said barring two songs Rest all from MM which were presented with

analysis. Hope the second part continues that way , because the TV generally

would expect other MD s are also included to reach their respective fans too

bregds
