Bhaskar,

you've reminded this wonderful Song by Shri MSV

Film: Iru Dhuruvam
Music: MSV
Lyrics: Kannadasan
Singers: TMS & PS

Iru dhuruvam was a remake of the Dilp kumar starrer Ganga Jamuna

MSV asusual came up with his original tunes and this song is a classic themmangu or a perfect Folk song

the musical arrangement is marvellous and ofcourse TMS & PS have sung with perfection

that too when PS sings "INIKKA INIKKA NENACHU... IRAVUM PAGALUM THUDICHU...." she shivers and makes music lovers shiver too...

That's the touch of the Music master MSV

(on screen chemistry b/t Padmini & NT is wonderful)

Listen to this song and enjoy

Indeed a great group dance song with folk background and grand orchestra and lovely male and female chorus...

Indha song-la pala idangalla tune-la twist irukum... a speciality which our MM MSV only can present...

Song kettadhan one can experience this... kettudhan paarungalen...

Dear friends,
Very good selection. Mr. S. Ramnathan who was once assistant to A. Bhimsingh, directed both the versions of this film. The background score by MM is a delight to your ears but more than that, it will completely reflect the mode of the scene. Particularly during the scenes where Muthuraman as a police personnel will be hunting Rangan, an accused, in these scenes emotions and duty would be combined in his background score. And in this song his full logical approach has worked out perfectly. This song was based on holy, festival of colors. Initially NT wanted to use local Tamil festival like Pongal but on the directors instance he did not compel it. Then when composing, MM was described the scene and he wanted that the holy should be perfectly shown in the song. He used the shivering effect to show the reaction when water is horced on a person (here it is water immersed with colour powders). And it was aptly picturised in the film with NT and Padmini bringing out the best so that the song is enlived on the screen. Imagine if this song is picturised with some body else. And here is the man who can make even rain drops into music (as he did in Senthamizh pattu).
Raghavendran.
