Hi folks

I take this opportunity to congratulate Ram, Vaidy, Ramki, Sabesan and all those who were instrumental to bring this site up.

My humble "namaskaarams" to the MM (Mellisai Mannar MSV) avargaL.

I have with me lyrics to over 1100 songs for which the MM has scored music for. Of these, over 600 have been penned by the best friend of the MM, KK, (Kaviarasar Kannadasan). It is real hard for me to describe their combination. The list is ever growing as well.

Please do ask if you need any, some, all : )) I would be more than willing to share them.

Randy... this is awesome. So many songs that you have collected. But, truly as you say, the list keeps growing. The MSV-KK combo has been brilliant all the times.

But I believe this combo needs to be expanded a little more.

MSV - KK - TMS (broader category)
MSV - KK - PS [P Suseela]

and there would be sub-divisions in these 2 as well.

For TMS, it splits into Sivaji and MGR. We need a couple of doctorate research to find out the root of these combos... and I am sure people wouldnt be able to make out the root cause. The reason is that everyone in the combo complemented each other that they cannot be separated out.

MSV and Kavignar kannadasan combination is very successful and had wonderful chemeistry.I think they are like "kalamega poets" of olden days.
We can confidently saythat they are the back bone of modern cinema music.

MSV-Kannadasan combo is DEADLY !!! Just think about the songs in Karnan; Kannadasan was not a spiritual person for many years in his life. But see the kind of DIVINE lyrics that he has given in KARNAN. And music by MSV would have been more than DIVINE. Even a spiritual practitioner (or) a classical musician can NEVER even think of such a divine music.

Also Vaali is another great lyricist who has been writing for different generations.
